CareFusion's Jim Neal To Be Honored
ALEXANDRIA, VA....The Health Ethics Trust today announced that Jim Neal, CCE, Director of Ethics and Compliance for CareFusion, will be named a Fellow of the Trust at this year's Healthcare Compliance Best Practices Forum on October 24 & 25 in Washington, D.C. Mark Pastin, President of the Trust, said, "CCO Fellows are nominated by members of their organizations or by their peers and selected by the Trust's Best Practices Committee. No one has done more for the compliance community over the past decade than Jim Neal.”
The Health Ethics Trust established the Healthcare Compliance Best Practices Forum in 1995 as a peer review process to recognize compliance achievements in healthcare organizations. Soon after the Forum was established, it became apparent that not only should best practices be recognized; individuals who have shaped healthcare compliance should also be recognized. Since then, the title of Fellow of the Health Ethics Trust has become the highest honor available to a compliance professional.
Mr. Neal is being recognized not only for his work at CareFusion, but also for his prior service as Chief Compliance Officer at Palomar Pomerado Health and for his decade of service to the Trust. Prior to working for Palomar Pomerado, Mr. Neal served as Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Special Operations. Last year, Mr. Neal submitted a winning Best Practice in the area of Code of Conduct on behalf of CareFusion.
Pastin commented, "Jim has made a great contribution to the Trust and to the endeavor of compliance in many ways. As an example, Jim was probably the first compliance officer in an acute care hospital to develop a comprehensive research compliance program. He led the effort to completely revise the Trust's certification program and is currently part of the effort to publish comprehensive best practice standards. Jim always brings good will and good humor to hard work, making it easier for everyone to reach the goal. The Trust is proud to name Jim as a Fellow."
